Across Victoria

Where warehouse handling happens in Victoria

The course doesn't change from suburb to suburb — but this is the kind of operation it's written for.

  • The Port of Melbourne is Australia's busiest container port, and container unpacking and staging work flows from it across the west of the city.
  • The western freight belt through Truganina, Laverton North, Derrimut and Altona holds the state's heaviest concentration of distribution centres.
  • Dandenong South in the south-east pairs manufacturing with large-format warehousing and 3PL operations.
  • Somerton, Campbellfield and Epping carry northern distribution, including the wholesale markets.
  • Geelong combines port work at Corio with regional distribution down the surf coast corridor.

Also covers workers in and around Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo, Shepparton, Traralgon and Mildura.

No. The course is fully online and self-paced, so there's nothing to book and no travel — you can do it from home or on a break, on a phone or a laptop.

Work health and safety in Victoria is regulated by WorkSafe Victoria under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 (Vic) and the OHS Regulations, which include a hazardous manual handling part, which includes duties to manage the risks of hazardous manual tasks. This course is general awareness training, not legal advice — check the WorkSafe Victoria guidance or ask your employer about the requirements that apply to your site.

That depends on the employer. The optional Certificate of Completion shows you completed the training and passed the assessment, but it's non-accredited and is not a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment. Some sites require accredited training or an in-house program, so check first.

The scenarios centre on warehouse and distribution centre handling — racking, pick faces, cages and dock loading. That covers a lot of container unpacking and staging work, but it doesn't cover machinery licensing or port-specific operational procedures.

This is non-accredited general awareness training and does not issue a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment. Always confirm your employer's specific training requirements.
