Adelaide context

Where warehouse handling happens in Adelaide

The course doesn't change from suburb to suburb — but this is the kind of operation it's written for.

  • Outer Harbor at Port Adelaide is South Australia's container terminal, and container unpacking and onward distribution work flows from it into warehouses across the city.
  • Wingfield, Gepps Cross and Dry Creek form the northern industrial belt, heavy with distribution centres, transport depots and wholesale stores.
  • Regency Park and Kilburn hold long-established warehousing and light industrial operations close to the city.
  • Edinburgh Parks and Direk, on the northern corridor, concentrate newer large-format distribution and 3PL warehousing.
  • Food, wine and horticulture distribution runs through the metropolitan area year-round, which puts a lot of chilled and temperature-controlled handling into ordinary warehouse work.

Also covers workers based around Lonsdale, Camden Park, Pooraka, Burton, Royal Park and Green Fields.

Questions

FAQ

No. The course is fully online and self-paced, so there's nothing to book and no travel — you can do it from home or on a break, on a phone or a laptop.

South Australia's work health and safety framework is regulated by SafeWork SA, and hazardous manual tasks duties sit within it. This course is general awareness training, not legal advice — check the SafeWork SA guidance or ask your employer about the requirements that apply to your site.

That depends on the employer. The optional Certificate of Completion shows you completed the training and passed the assessment, but it's non-accredited and is not a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment. Some sites require accredited training or an in-house program, so check first.

The scenarios centre on warehouse and distribution centre handling — racking, pick faces, cages and dock loading. That covers a lot of container unpacking and staging work, but it doesn't cover machinery licensing or port-specific operational procedures.

This is non-accredited general awareness training and does not issue a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment. Always confirm your employer's specific training requirements.
