Across Queensland

Where warehouse handling happens in Queensland

The course doesn't change from suburb to suburb — but this is the kind of operation it's written for.

  • The Port of Brisbane at Fisherman Islands is the state's main container terminal, feeding warehousing across the Australia TradeCoast precinct.
  • Acacia Ridge is a long-established rail freight and intermodal hub, ringed by warehousing and transport yards.
  • The south-west industrial belt through Wacol, Richlands and Larapinta concentrates distribution centres and 3PL warehousing.
  • Yatala and Crestmead sit on the Brisbane to Gold Coast corridor, with warehousing running in both directions.
  • Townsville and Mackay serve North Queensland with port work, mining supply and regional distribution.

Also covers workers in and around Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba, Townsville, Cairns and Mackay.

Questions

FAQ

No. The course is fully online and self-paced, so there's nothing to book and no travel — you can do it from home or on a break, on a phone or a laptop.

Work health and safety in Queensland is regulated by Workplace Health and Safety Queensland under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Qld) and its Regulations, which includes duties to manage the risks of hazardous manual tasks. This course is general awareness training, not legal advice — check the Workplace Health and Safety Queensland guidance or ask your employer about the requirements that apply to your site.

That depends on the employer. The optional Certificate of Completion shows you completed the training and passed the assessment, but it's non-accredited and is not a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment. Some sites require accredited training or an in-house program, so check first.

The scenarios centre on warehouse and distribution centre handling — racking, pick faces, cages and dock loading. That covers a lot of container unpacking and staging work, but it doesn't cover machinery licensing or port-specific operational procedures.

This is non-accredited general awareness training and does not issue a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment. Always confirm your employer's specific training requirements.
